In addition to developing tools within the company, we continuously invest in the latest technology, so our clients always benefit from an interface at the leading edge of progress in the fields of localization, multimedia, the Internet, computer-assisted translation and software engineering. We turns to market productivity tools in the following fields:
Project management
To manage all aspects of a project (definition, objectives, planning, costs, organization, resources), all Project Managers at GlobaWare International use MS Project, a widely recognized tool, in conjunction with internally designed processes.
Software localization tools
GlobaWare International uses the latest software localization technology, such as Corel Catalyst. These tools generally include a suite of utilities for localization, Quality Assurance, and project engineering and management, which contributes to the simplification and the speeding up of software product localization. The main advantages are: the possibility of directly converting binary files (EXE, DLL) without having to reconstruct software components, and the possibility of re-using the user interface resizing from the previously localized versions.
Translation memory & Terminology
Translation memories and terminology management have a predominant place in our localization process. Therefore, we can:
Reduce translation time by automatically re-using segments that are already translated.
Guarantee consistency of terminology across all documents of the same product.
Reduce the cost of localizing future versions of a product.
We use mainly Trados Translator's Workbench. We also believe that the automatic checking of the use of an agreed terminology is essential for delivering quality products that meet your expectations. That is the reason why we integrated into our translation process a complete "consistent authoring solution". The Xerox Termchecker product is used like a spell checker on small projects, or in a batch mode for larger projects to ensure the correct use of approved glossaries prior to proofreading, thus reducing workload for the reviser. Terminology databases are managed using Xerox TermOrganizer, Trados Multiterm glossaries being generated on demand. For more information about our terminology process, refer to our case study.
Automatic translation
In spite of significant progress made in recent years, automatic translation technology does not generally produce a result of the quality of human translation. For specific pairs of languages, we offer automatic translations that allow the user to grasp the essential of an electronic message, a document or a journal article.
In-house production tools
A set of tools and internal processes have been developed in order to improve the quality of the services offered by GlobaWare. These tools guarantee:
The translation of all the components of a product
The consistency of the translated text throughout the project
The restoration of the functionality of a product after its translation and assembly.
At GlobaWare International, we use computer-aided translation tools for the automation of repetitive translation tasks, thus accelerating the localization process and reducing costs. Combined with our internal process, we ensure the highest level of consistency within a given document, set of documents, product and its successive versions.
